Before entering dentistry, Dr. Shawn Hlavaty worked as a landscape architect — a career that sharpened his eye for design, spatial relationships, and the way small details shape an overall impression. That perspective followed him into dental school and continues to define how he approaches every case. Patients consistently describe his results as natural-looking and transformative, a reflection of the design sensibility he brings to smile aesthetics.
Credentials & Professional Affiliations
Dr. Hlavaty earned his DDS from NYU College of Dentistry and completed advanced implant training through NYU and Bellevue Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the Global Dental Implant Academy. Clinical Excellence, Personally Delivered
Noe joined Hlavaty Dental Arts in 2024 as a registered dental hygienist with a passion for transforming the patient experience. A graduate of Fortis College's Dental Hygiene Program (AS, 2019), Noe earned the prestigious Hu Friedy Golden Scaler award for clinical excellence — but what matters most to his patients is his approach.
Noe brings a personalized touch to every appointment, treating each patient as a valued guest rather than a number on the schedule. He understands that comfort and trust are foundational to great dentistry, and he works with our team to ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and cared for throughout their visit.
Outside the Practice
When he's not supporting our patients' smiles, Noe enjoys time with his family — his wife Sierra also works with us as a hygienist — and exploring Santa Barbara's coffee shops, trails, and outdoor spaces. His commitment to excellence in his profession mirrors his dedication to creating cherished moments with the people he loves.
